Changes I have made to front cover...

Since I submitted my final cover last time I have made some changes as I think it was lacking in a few a bits and seemed to have a lot of blank space. Originally I did this because I thought the image would be the key part and didn't want to cover it over much, however I have now realised that the image is still the main focus but having more text and headlines enhances it and makes it look more realistic.

As you can see, I have added in more headlines along the right hand side and have used blue and white to tie in with the blue and white I had used for the circle logo. This make the magazine tie together as a whole and be aesthetically pleasing.
I have also added in another round logo in the top right corner to advertise a competition. I did this because from audience research and existing product research I noticed they often had competitions and people wanted the chance to win things.

MUSIC MAGAZINE!

Today I have finished all my editing of my front cover, contents page and double page spread. I am really happy with the end result of all three of the tasks. I think they all link together and look like they would be part of the same magazine. They all include the same style font and colours and image style.
I have attatched the front cover and my double page spread but due to uploading errors I can't upload my contents page.

MUSIC MAGAZINE!

The past couple of weeks have been spent doing the double page spread of my music magazine. For this double page spread I have done an interview on the release of a new album from my cover star 'Jack Cronin'.
I have tried to fit it to the style of the front page and contents page by using the black background and white writing for the majority of the text and then red writing for the quotes which I have done bigger. I have done this because when I analysed music magazines, they all had a link between the pages of their magazine. It gives the magazine a flow.

MUSIC MAGAZINE!

(Posted Monday 22nd February 2010 on moodle)

Today I have completed my contents page. I didn't have to add a huge amount but have finished off what was included in the magazine and have added a little bit about what everyone is talking about because I saw it in a magazine I looked at and thought it worked really well.
I am pleased with how my contents page looks and think it links really well with my front cover because they follow the same theme.

Today I have moved on to the making of the contents page for my music magazine. I have been looking at the contents pages of various magazines to help me with my design. The design needs to follow the theme of my front cover to make the two pieces look like they are meant to be part of one magazine. To do this I have used similar colours and fonts to match. Also i have used another image of my brother to link the two.

Over the past few weeks I have been collecting photographs for the cover of my music magazine and generally putting it together in photoshop to create the final magazine cover.
I took photographs of my brother and recreated an image that I saw of Paul Weller. The photo is of my brother Jack sitting on an amp with his guitar resting against it. I wanted my image to show a bit of personality and the 'musician' look.
It took a fair while to get the front cover right but I am pleased with the end result.
Attatched is my final magazine cover and the images I had taken to choosee from for it so please let me know what you think.
